Mrs. Rookie Gross, Camp Director
Mrs. Rookie Gross has been a devoted teacher and leader in Torah day camps for over twenty years, serving communities in Connecticut and New Jersey. In 2013, she founded Camp Acheinu and, b’chasdei Hashem, guided its growth and success ever since. Her passion for creating a warm, Torah-dik camp is reflected in the beautiful Sheim Tov that Acheinu has become known for. Recognizing the need for a girls’ camp in Bergen County with the same Torah-centered hashkafa, she founded Camp Ashreinu in 2025, bringing her heart and vision to create a nurturing environment where every camper can thrive and shine.

Head Counselor and Assistant to the Director
With over twenty years in Jewish education and day camps, Rabbi Pietruszka has been a trusted leader at Camp Acheinu
since 2015. He serves as Head Counselor and Assistant Director, combining warmth, strong communication, and meticulous attention to detail.
Rabbi Eli Baum, 1st and 2nd Grade Division Head
Rabbi Eli Baum, Dean of Students at Yeshiva Ketana of Manhattan, serves as 1st–2nd grade Division Head and Rebbe. With over 15 years in day camps, he brings patience, enthusiasm, and positive energy to every camper’s day.
Rabbi Elie Rothberger, 3rd Grade Division Head
Rabbi Elie Rothberger, with Camp Acheinu since 2015, serves as 3rd grade Division Head and Rebbe. Known for his warmth, respect, and clear expectations, he creates a nurturing environment where campers flourish.
Rabbi Yoni Ference, 4th Grade Division Head
Rabbi Yoni Ference, a 4th grade Rebbi at RYNJ, serves as 4th grade Division Head. Warm, approachable, and relatable, he connects with campers on the field and in daily activities, making him a beloved leader.
Rabbi Dovid Besser, 5th and 6th Grade Division Head
Rabbi Dovid Besser leads our 5th–7th grade Senior Elite Division and serves as a 5th grade Rebbi at YBH. His warmth, positive energy, and devotion to each camper make him a highly respected and cherished staff member.
Rabbi Avi Greenberg, 7th and 8th Grade Division Head
Rabbi Avi Greenberg, our 7th and 8th grade Division Head, has many years of experience working in summer camps, including
NCSY Kollel for many summers, TJJ, and now Camp Acheinu. With his positivity, creativity warmth, and care for each camper,
Rabbi Greenberg has created a "camp within camp" fit for our oldest campers.
During the year, Rabbi Greenberg lives in Yerushalayim and is learning in the YU Gruss Kollel.
Rabbi Ariel Schreier, Program Director
Rabbi Ariel Schreier brings Ruach, creativity, and experience to daily camp programs, fostering fun, self-confidence, and Middos Tovos. He also serves as a 3rd grade Rebbe at RYNJ and runs the popular “Mishna Accomplished” program.
Rabbi Nosson Silbermintz, Learning Director
Rabbi Nosson Silbermintz has led our learning program since 2013 with passion and dedication. His charisma, love of Limud Torah, and strong leadership create a thriving and meaningful learning environment for all campers.
Mrs. Ahuva Pomerantz, Office Manager
Mrs. Ahuva Pomerantz has been working in Camp Acheinu since 2015 and serves as our Office Manager. Mrs. Pomerantz has been working in the business management and bookkeeping profession for over 31 years. Mrs. Pomerantz loves to help people and really enjoys working with the Camp Acheinu parents and staff.
