junior DIVISION - BOYS ENTERING GRADES 1-3

Our youngest division for boys entering 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade is run by Rabbi David Pietruszka. Our counselors are trained through pre-camp training as well as daily meetings with Rabbi Pietruszka. He is there to guide the staff to ensure that they provide a warm and caring environment for our youngest campers, transitioning them to camp with the "big boys".  Our 1st graders have a Morah in the morning who focuses on making the learning and Kriyah review fun & exciting with hands-on projects & activities. Boys entering 2nd and 3rd grade have daily learning groups with skilled Rebbeim where they learn Chumash, Parsha and other subjects. The Rebbiem include stories to games to keep the boys interested and uses incentives and raffles to keep the boys motivated. The rest of the day is filled with loads of fun and exciting activities including swimming in camp, sports leagues at Sagamore Park, specialties such as arts and crafts & music, and exciting Daily Special Activities with Rabbi Yisroel Rich geared towards our younger campers. Trips for the first and second graders tend to have shorter travel time and are age appropriate. The third graders are taken on bigger trips such as to an  Amusement Park or Waterpark. Our 3rd graders often join the 4th and 5th graders on trips.
