FAQ's
Camp Acheinu is for boys entering 1st through 8th grade. Campers come from local and neighboring communities, including Bergenfield, Teaneck, Clifton, Passaic, Fairlawn, Riverdale, Washington Heights, Upper West Side, and more.
Learning is a core value at Camp Acheinu. Each day begins with davening and a structured, engaging learning program under the direction of Rabbi Nosson Silbermintz. Each bunk is guided by a skilled Rebbi who teaches Chumash, Mishnayos, or Gemara according to grade level, along with Parsha and other topics. Our youngest campers focus on kriyah skills through interactive games and activities. Our Rebbeim hail from many local schools and Yeshivos, and bring energy, enthusiasm, and a love of Torah learning!
After learning, campers enjoy a full schedule of activities, including sports leagues, swimming, arts and crafts, “The Science Lab,” and baking for younger grades, music and advanced sports clinics for older grades, and chess. Each day also features a special activity led by Rabbi Schreier, which is a highlight for campers.
Campers swim at the River Edge Swim Club, located behind the camp grounds. The club features a triple-Olympic–sized pool, basketball courts, gaga ball pit, ping pong tables, and a playground. Certified lifeguards and a Head Lifeguard ensure safety, and campers are tested for eligibility as deep-water swimmers.
Sports are an integral part of the day. Boys play baseball, basketball, soccer, hockey, football, volleyball, and dodgeball on campus and at local fields, including Kenneth B. Memorial Park. Grade 2 and up participate in daily competitive leagues, with additional sports clinics to develop skills and sportsmanship. The modern, indoor, fully air-conditioned gym is in use all day long!
Each grade goes on a trip every other week. Past trips have included Urban Air, High Exposure, American Dream Waterpark, Nickelodeon Amusement Park, Billy Beez, Rockland Boulders, Montclair Ice Arena, and local bowling alleys. The two oldest divisions enjoy an additional Major Trip at the end of the summer and on-campus late nights.
Campers are expected to dress in a way that reflects the values of Bnei Torah:
-
Yarmulka or baseball hat worn at all times
-
Tzitzis worn at all times
-
Tank tops not allowed
-
Socks and sneakers for safety
-

The health and safety of our campers is our top priority. The RYNJ campus is secured by an armed guard, and visitors require approval to enter. A certified nurse is on-site throughout the day, and several staff members are trained in CPR and First Aid. A crossing guard ensures safe travel to and from the pool and field.
